Just as the weather starts to cool down, and even give us some slight freezing, the visitors of the South Austin Neighborhood Center enjoy true warmth. Nestled amongst full-grown Live Oak and Cedar trees and intertwined with a running creek, South Austin Neighborhood Center is a perfect respite from the weather. It’s also a great place to learn how to use a computer!
Austin Free-Net offers eight computer systems inside a beautiful spacious lab. Comfortable chairs, floor-to-ceiling wood closets, carpeting and a wall of glass overlooking a Serenity porch lead to a feeling of cozy peace. The entire building is designed to be welcoming and the staff goes out of their way to ensure clients are happy and have what they need.
Inspirational quotes hang alongside colorful drawings done by the center’s visiting children. Additionally, this neighborhood center offers a bulletin board filled with job postings, a calendar filled with activities for all ages as well as a multitude of health and human services.
Austin Free-Net’s computer lab is but one of the multi-generational educational and entertainment options South Austin offers. They have a senior activities center, a WIC Clinic, food and clothing distribution, and more.
