AUSTIN, TX – Austin Free-Net Executive Director appointed to State Task Force

Local nonprofit Austin Free-Net would like to congratulate Executive Director Juanita Budd on being appointed to the Task Force on Improving Relations with Nonprofits with the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission Task Force on Improving Relations with Nonprofits works to develop and implement a plan for improving contracting relationships between state agencies and faith- and community-based organizations, develop best practices for cooperating and collaborating with organizations, and identify and address gaps in state services that these organizations could fill.

Ms. Budd said this of her being selected, “This is a great opportunity for our organization to continue to foster sustainable relationships within the state and local levels. Building this task force is a great way for leaders and officials to see first hand the need for community-based organizations. ”

Juanita holds a BA Political Science from Bucknell University; HR Management Certification from the University of Texas at Austin; is a certified Mediator through the Dispute Resolution Center; and received her Certificate in Texas Non-Profit Leadership & Management Program in 2008.
